Terri Morris - Director / Instructor

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Terri Morris and I am the Director/ Owner and Instructor of Coastal Dance Academy. My love for dance began at the age of three. I have danced my whole life, and starting teaching at a professional level when I was a freshman in High School. Along with teaching dance, I was a bathing suit model for a magazine company along the Florida Coast. I attended college at The University of Southern Mississippi, where I majored in dance and minored in acting. My freshman year of College, I auditioned and qualified for the Dixie Darling Dance Team, where I performed during the half time shows. I have taught at many studios from Florida to the East Coast, and have opened and directed three successful studios of my own. I have performed in various musicals such as “Send in the clowns”, “The King and I”, and with the New York casting group of “Oklahoma”. I have danced with professional choreographers throughout the world including Wade Robson and Broadway Star Chita Rivera. In the summer of 2006, I was named national tap choreographer at the Tremaine National Finals in Orlando, Florida. I believe in giving my students the opportunities of a lifetime. I have taken them on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where they performed a 30 minute production in front of numerous vacationers. We also attend various dance conventions and competitions throughout the year. At Coastal Dance Academy I offer Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Combo Classes and Ballroom to children and adults. I am the only dance instructor in the area who teaches 25 classes a week with the help of my daughter Brittany.

Brittany Morris - Teacher

Hi, my name is Brittany Morris. I am a 2002 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and a 2006 graduate of Wesley College, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts. I have been dancing and performing for the past 20 years along the Atlantic Coast. I have performed at Sea on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and recently auditioned for the Rockette Spectacular in New York City and for the Philadelphia 76ers dance team. In the summer of 2007, I was named national hip-hop choreographer at the Tremaine National Finals in Orlando, Florida. I have also performed at Sea Witch Festivals, nursing homes, hospital fairs and cheer centers. I have attended many dance conventions and competitions in Washington, D.C., New York, Virginia, Myrtle Beach, and Northwest Florida. I have danced under professional dancers including Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Marty Dew, Chris Moss, Misha Gabriel, Wade Robson, Dan Karaty, Joelle Martinec, Laurie Johnson and Keri Lagrand to name a few.

ATTENTION BALLROOM DANCERS...
In addition to our regular classes we offer, we are pleased to announce that we will be adding Ballroom classes to our 2007 schedule. For the past 2 years, Terri and I have taken Ballroom classes by a professional company in Southwest Florida, and are excited to teach those who are interested! I am very excited for this year to begin.
